What is the future of audiobooks?
In foreign countries, the business model of audiobooks is very mature. Almost all of the top sellers on Amazon are available in audio. Obama and Bill Clinton both won two Grammy Awards for Best Read-aloud Album for recording audiobooks. The difficulty is how to make money for audiobook producers in a pirated environment, which is similar to the predicament faced by the music industry, but book authors lack commercial performance opportunities after singers become famous (except for Yu Dan). The very hateful thing about piracy is that it covers up a lot of real market demand.
